Dear Friends, Supporters and Constituents in Senate District 39B,
I am sincerely humbled by your show of support for me to continue keeping my commitments to you as your State Representative. Thank you for the opportunity you have afforded me to continue serving as your voice in St. Paul.
The election results in Minnesota were not ideal. A number of my colleagues in the Republican caucus were not re-elected, and we now find ourselves in the minority. This is deeply concerning, especially in light of Governor Dayton's promise to raise taxes on the so-called "rich," to continue his plans for more environmental regulation, and a full government takeover of our health care system through implementation of a health insurance exchange. Changing the law to allow same sex couples to marry and early voting expansion are but a few of the bills we have heard discussed thus far. With a DFL majority it will be extremely difficult to thwart their agenda.
I want to assure you that I will continue to do everything in my power to stop these assaults on Minnesota tax-payers and their families.
I ask for your prayers as we face these most challenging of times. The American ideals of limited government, safety and security, personal and fiscal responsibility have not changed. These are the values that I believe in and that we need to fight for in order to protect our future.
